AdLab has a great showing at the One Club Young Ones

In its winner’s announcement, the One Club had this to say about our program: “Brigham Young University’s dominance in Young Ones ADC was enough to elevate them to second place, swapping positions with perennial superstars School of Visual Arts, who have never finished below third for as long as we can remember.”

“It’s extremely rewarding to have our little creative track in advertising in the School of Communications go toe-to-toe with the best art and design schools and universities in the country and come out as a perennial best-in-class competitor,” said Jeff Sheets.

Check out this fun photo gallery where you can see a lot of our winners and the students at the gala.

In addition, the AdLab has received eight shortlist nominations for the AICP Student Commercial category. There are only two other nominations, so the School has 8 of the 10 on the global shortlist for best in student commercials. The Winner will be announced in June.

In the 2023 AAF National Student Advertising Competition, the AdLab earned one of the eight National Finalist spots. The team won the District competition in Tucson against schools from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. The semi-finals were held virtually with the BYU team led by Gwynie Bahr, Danny Facer, Alli Trendler, and Anna Christensen, representing the larger AdLab team.  They will now go to St Louis, Missouri to compete during AAF’s Admerica June 1-4.
